Best served warm with a big scoop of homemade ice cream (we’ll save that recipe for another post, because oh my word, it’s good).

Easy Homemade Peach Cobbler Ingredients

Peach Filling:

  • 4 tablespoons butter (plus extra for greasing the pan)
  • 6–8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 4 cups)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Batter:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1½ cups milk

Streusel Topping:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place baking dish in oven with a small pat of butter to heat.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Add peaches, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Cook 6–10 minutes, until peaches soften and syrup thickens. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, self-rising flour, and milk, adding milk slowly to avoid lumps.
  4. In another bowl, combine streusel topping ingredients with a pastry cutter or fork until crumbly.
  5. Remove hot baking dish from oven. Pour batter in first, then spoon peach mixture evenly over the top. Do not stir.
  6. Sprinkle streusel topping evenly across the cobbler.
  7. Bake 35–40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm with homemade ice cream or whipped cream.

Easy Homemade Peach Cobbler Tips & Variations

  • Use canned peaches (drained) when fresh aren’t in season.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg to the streusel for extra warmth.
  • Sprinkle sugar on top before baking for a little extra crunch.

My favorite kitchen tools

To top it with homemade vanilla ice cream — I use this ice cream maker and love it. If you’re peeling fresh peaches, a good paring knife makes all the difference. Whisk your batter in a sturdy set of mixing bowls for easy pouring.
