Homemade Ranch (Simple, Fresh & Better Than the Bottle)

You ever taste ranch from the store and think, “meh…”? Same.
This homemade ranch is creamy, zippy, perfectly seasoned, and ridiculously easy.
It does use real measurements (look at me being responsible for once 😂), but still comes together in minutes. And Y’all, I would go as far to say it is better than that store bought famous kind everyone raves about.

Ingredients for this Homemade Ranch

  • 1 cup Duke’s mayo
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup buttermilk (or more depending on how thick you like it)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp seasoning salt
  • ⅛-¼ tsp dried dill (depending on how much dill flavor you want)
  • A couple twists of black pepper
  • A little squeeze of lemon juice

How to make homemade ranch dressing

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayo, sour cream, and buttermilk.
  2. Add your garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, dill, pepper, and squeeze of lemon juice.
  3. Whisk it all up until smooth.
  4. Taste it — adjust the dill, pepper, or lemon if you want more punch.
  5. It’ll look a little runny at first, but don’t panic.
  6. Cover & chill for at least 30 minutes so it thickens up and the flavors get all happy.

It’s so worth it. Way better than anything in a bottle, and you’ll be dunking everything from pizza to chicken tenders to your pinky finger in this stuff.
