Proverbs 3 Resolutions: Who I’m Becoming (Part 1)

Proverbs 3 resolutions aren’t loud. They aren’t trendy. And they aren’t something you hype up in January and forget by February.
I realized this year that it’s not that I don’t want to grow, I do. I just don’t want to keep chasing change that looks good on paper but doesn’t actually feel different on the inside.
What I really want is a steadier heart. A calmer spirit with a faith that shows up in real life, not just in my notes app.
Season 3 of Unscripted Conversations is all about Faith in Motion, and it’s about letting your faith stop being something you mostly talk about and start being something you actually live out.
This whole season is rooted in Proverbs chapter 3, because that chapter doesn’t give us hype. It gives us a way to live.
And today we’re starting with who we’re becoming.
Who I’m Becoming – Proverbs 3 Resolutions
The book of Proverbs 3 lays out six heart-level resolutions that quietly shape your life. They’re not deep or complicated but the kind you can actually live out one at a time.
Here are the first six Proverbs 3 resolutions I’m choosing to walk into this year.
You can read Proverbs 3 in full over on BibleGateway.
1. Let Love and Faithfulness Lead My Life (Proverbs 3 Resolutions)
Some days we’re not unkind on purpose. We’re just tired and stretched thin. And often carrying more than we say out loud. Usually the first thing that slips is our kindness towards others.
This is about choosing ahead of time what leads you. It’s choosing love and faithfulness. It’s choosing to be someone whose home feels safe and whose words feel gentle.
2. Trust God Fully and Invite Him Into Everything
Trusting God with all your heart means inviting Him into the real stuff. The hard conversations, unknown seasons, and the places where you don’t have answers yet.
It is about letting go of the need to have it all figured out and choosing to walk with peace instead of pressure.
3. Walk Humbly and Stay Teachable
In real life, it’s so easy to start leaning on our own wisdom. We’ve been through things and have learned things. And before we know it, we’re trusting ourselves more than we’re trusting God.
Staying Teachable is about staying soft and letting God keep shaping your heart.
4. Honor God With What I Have and Trust Him With What I Need
Next, this one could reach into some tender places. It’s about choosing to live open-handed instead of clenched-fisted. Trusting God as your source. And remembering that everything you have came from Him in the first place.
5. Receive His Correction and Let Him Shape Me
Correction isn’t rejection. It’s love.
Receiving His correction is about letting God nudge your heart when something needs to change, and trusting that He’s shaping you because He delights in you.
6. Chase Wisdom, Not Noise
Chasing wisdom is more about choosing peace over pressure. Wisdom over noise and letting your life slow down enough to actually feel steady again.
