Waiting has a way of testing you that you don’t really expect at first. It’s not that you stop believing, it’s just that you start thinking a little too much. You replay things in your mind, you wonder if you missed something, and before you know it, you’re trying to make sense of something that hasn’t changed yet.
Most of us don’t struggle with trusting God when things are going smooth. We struggle when things feel slow.
Faith That Refines
Sometimes the reason things aren’t happening right away has nothing to do with God not hearing you, and everything to do with what He’s doing in you before He gives you what you asked for.
We want the answer, but God sees the whole picture. He knows what it’s going to take to carry that blessing, and if something in you needs to be strengthened or cleaned up first, He’s not going to skip that part just to move things along faster.
That’s what refining is. It’s not punishment, it’s preparation.
Is It Revealing Something?
And then there are other seasons where it’s not about fixing anything in you… it’s about showing what’s already there.
When you look at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3, that fire didn’t change them, it revealed them. It showed that their faith was real, steady, and not going anywhere.
Sometimes the way you walk through something isn’t just about you. Someone else is watching, and God will use your faith to reach them.
