Sheet pan pork chops and potatoes just might be the easiest, most satisfying supper you make all week — and y’all, I made this one completely on a whim and it turned out SO good that I had to share it with you. One pan, a handful of pantry seasonings, 400 degrees, and 20 minutes is truly all it takes to get a hot, hearty supper on the table without the stress.

This is the kind of real-life, no-measuring, throw-it-together cooking that I love. Nothing fancy. Nothing fussy. Just simple food that tastes like you worked way harder than you did — and that’s always a win in my book!

What You’ll Need

This supper comes together with just a few basics you probably already have on hand.

For the Pork Chops:

Bone-in pork chops (I used 2 — one per person)

Avocado oil (just a light drizzle)

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Seasoning salt

Dried thyme

Black pepper

For the Potatoes:

Quartered potatoes (I left the skin on — more flavor!)

Quartered onion

Avocado oil (just a drizzle to coat)

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Seasoning salt

Dried thyme

Black pepper

That’s it! Same seasoning blend for both. I don’t measure — I just season generously and trust the process. You’ll know it’s right when it smells amazing going into the oven.

How to Make Sheet Pan Pork Chops and Potatoes

This is one of those recipes that practically makes itself, and I love that about it.

Step 1: Prep the Potatoes and Onion

Quarter your potatoes and onion and toss them into a bowl. Drizzle a little avocado oil over them and toss to coat. Then sprinkle on your garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, thyme, and black pepper. Toss it all together until everything is nicely coated.

I love using avocado oil for high-heat roasting because it has a higher smoke point than olive oil — if you want to geek out on the science of it, Healthline has a great breakdown of avocado oil benefits worth a quick read!

Step 2: Season the Pork Chops

Lay your pork chops out on a foil-lined sheet pan. Give them a light drizzle of avocado oil and then season both sides generously with the same seasoning blend — garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, thyme, and black pepper. Don’t be shy here. That crust is everything.

Step 3: Arrange and Bake

Spread your seasoned potatoes and onions around the pork chops on the same sheet pan. Pop it all in the oven at 400°F and bake for 20 minutes.

That is it, y’all. 20 minutes.

Step 4: Plate It Up and Enjoy!

When it comes out, the pork chops are golden and juicy, the potatoes have a little crisp on the outside and are tender on the inside, and your whole house smells incredible. I served mine with some crock pot peas alongside it and it made for a really full, cozy plate.

Why Sheet Pan Pork Chops Potatoes Work on a Busy Weeknight

Sheet pan pork chops and potatoes check every single box when life is busy and you still want to eat well.

✔ One pan = easy cleanup
✔ Ready in 20 minutes start to finish
✔ Uses seasonings you already have
✔ The whole family loves it
✔ It looks like you tried way harder than you did

Honestly, I didn’t even plan this dinner. I was going to do something else but ended up grabbing pork chops and just going for it. Happy accidents in the kitchen are some of the best ones!

Tips for the Best Results

Use bone-in pork chops. They hold more moisture and tend to stay juicier in a high-heat bake. Boneless work too but watch the cook time — they can dry out faster.
Don’t skip the avocado oil on the potatoes. It helps them get those slightly crispy edges and carries the seasoning beautifully.
Cut your potatoes consistently. Quartered works great — just try to keep the pieces close to the same size so they cook evenly.
Line your pan with foil. This is my secret to easy cleanup. Everything lifts right off and you’re done.
Season generously. This is not the place to be timid! Layer on the garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, thyme, and pepper without fear.

What to Serve With Sheet Pan Pork Chops Potatoes

I served mine with crock pot peas, which I cooked separately because honestly I wasn’t even planning this meal — I was going to bake the peas or I would have added some green beans right to the pan. And now I know for next time!
Some other great sides:

Green beans (just throw them right on the pan if you plan ahead!)

Roasted corn

A simple side salad

Biscuits (always yes)

Southern-style butter beans

If you love easy chicken and pork dinners like this, you might also enjoy my Easy Chicken Pot Pie (No Measuring Required) or my Cowboy Butter Chicken Pasta: Easy Weeknight Meal — both are perfect for those nights when you need something fast and delicious.
Can I Make This Ahead?

You can absolutely season the pork chops and toss the potatoes ahead of time and keep them covered in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. This is great if you want to throw dinner in the oven the moment you walk in the door. Just slide the pan in and let the oven do the work!

Pin It for Later!

Y'all we have all heard the Beatitudes. We can recite them. But do we actually know how to live them out in our day to day real life? In this episode we are slowing way down and getting really honest about what Jesus actually meant when He said blessed — and I promise you it is not what most of us have been living like.

We’ve all heard about the Beatitudes. And if you’re asking what does blessed mean — honestly, most of us think we already know. We’ve heard it in sermons. We’ve talked about it in Bible study. I’ve even had my own kids come home from Vacation Bible School with the whole list memorized.

God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him. He blesses those who mourn. He blesses the humble, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, the persecuted. We know the words.

What gets my mind going is — do we actually know what any of that means right now? In this world? In the middle of the life we are actually living?

Because I don’t think the Beatitudes are just a list to memorize. I think they are meant to get deep inside of us and change something for the good. And in Episode 21 of Unscripted Conversations — the first episode of the Sermon on the Mount series — that is exactly what we are talking about.

Listen to What Does Blessed Mean

Go ahead and pull this one up wherever you listen — in the car, on a walk, while you’re doing whatever it is you do. Y’all I am not even kidding when I tell you this passage has had me fired up for weeks and I cannot wait for you to hear it.

We’ve Heard the Beatitudes — But Do We Really Know What Blessed Means?

Y’all how many times have we heard something that we just kind of tune out after hearing it for the 100th time? And I think that is exactly what has happened with the Beatitudes for a lot of us. We know the list. We can recite it. But if somebody pulled up a chair and asked you — okay so how are you actually living this out? Like in your real everyday life, what does it look like for YOU to be so hungry for God that nothing else satisfies? What does it look like for YOU to be a peacemaker when everything in you wants to go full on petty? Could we answer that? Because I couldn’t. Not really. And that is exactly why I knew we had to slow way down and dig into this one for real.

Blessed According to Jesus

What gets me so excited and all riled up about this is that Jesus walks up in front of this huge crowd — everybody is leaning in, waiting, wondering what He is going to say — and He sits down. And the very first word out of His mouth is blessed. And He gives that word to the worn out ones. The grieving ones. The ones being laughed at and talked about and pushed around. Not the ones with the highlight reel life. The ones with empty hands. Y’all I cannot even.

The word He used — makarios (mah-KAH-ree-oss) — means this deep settled okayness that your circumstances cannot touch. Not just a good day. Not things going well. Something underneath all of it that does not move no matter what is happening around you. And He gave that to the struggling ones. The empty handed ones. The ones nobody else was picking. I mean if that does not light something up in you I don’t know what will.
Y’all that is the question that has been messing with me through this whole episode. Because anybody can say blessed are those who mourn on a Sunday morning. But what does that actually look like when it is YOUR life?

When people are mocking you. When they are saying every evil thing about you. When you are doing the right thing and it is making you a target. When you are grieving something real and nobody around you is calling that blessed.

What does Jesus’ version of blessed look like when it is not on the wall art — when it is just your regular life on a regular day? That is exactly what we get into in this episode and I promise you it is going to land somewhere you were not expecting. Go listen.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

Why we think we know the Beatitudes but might be missing what Jesus actually said

What Makarios really means — and why it changes everything about how we read this passage

The world’s version of blessed vs. Jesus’ version side by side

What it looks like to come to God with empty hands — and why that is exactly where He wants us

What these eight declarations actually mean for your everyday life — not just Sunday morning but on a regular Tuesday when life is happening all around you

Pin It for Later

Save it to your Faith or Bible Study board on Pinterest for whenever you need a little reminder or another listen. And if you know somebody who needs to hear that they are blessed in the middle of what they are going through, even in the tough times, send it their way.

Living your faith is not just about knowing the right things — it is about actually doing something with what God has been showing you. And honestly? Most of us have a gap between those two things. A space between what God has been teaching us and how we are actually living. Today we are getting into why that gap exists and what to do about it.

Living Your Faith Means Actually Doing Something

James 1:22 says it plain: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
Do not just study it, highlight it in four colors, or screenshot it for your stories. Actually do it.

That word deceive is what really gets me. James is not just saying you will miss out if you only listen. He says you will convince yourself you are growing when really you have just been collecting. There is a big difference between those two things.

We have more access to sermons, podcasts, and Bible studies than any generation before us — which is incredible. But at some point God stops wanting to add to what we know and starts wanting us to do something with what we already have.

The Story Behind James 1:22

What makes James 1:22 hit even harder — is knowing who wrote it and why.

James was Jesus’ brother. Grew up in the same house, ate at the same table. And for years, he did not believe Jesus was who He said He was. John 7:5 says it plainly: his own brothers did not believe in Him. James watched miracle after miracle and still kept his distance. At one point the family tried to come take Jesus home because they thought He had lost His mind.

Then came the crucifixion. Everything over. Family name ruined.

Three days later, Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that the risen Jesus appeared to James personally. Just James. One on one. Whatever happened in that moment completely undid him. The skeptic became a saint. The doubtful little brother became the leader of the entire Jerusalem church — a man whose knees were reportedly calloused from so much time in prayer.

Y’all, this man LIVED the gap between knowing and doing for years. He knows exactly what it costs to have the truth right in front of your face and keep finding reasons not to move. And after that encounter with the risen Christ, he never wasted another day. He carried it forward all the way to his death.

So when he says do what it says — that is not a tip. That is a transformed life speaking.

Why Living Your Faith Is Harder Than It Sounds

So why do we stay stuck? A few honest reasons.

We are waiting for perfect conditions– for the timing to be right, for things to calm down, for ourselves to feel more ready. But Moses was standing at a burning bush with a list of excuses. God’s answer was basically — I know. I’ll be with you. Go. He does not need you to be ready. He needs you to be willing.

We are afraid of getting it wrong– What if I misheard? What if I take a step and it goes sideways? Here is what I keep coming back to: God can redirect a moving car a whole lot easier than one that is sitting still in the driveway. Imperfect obedience is still obedience.

And then there is the sneaky one– we keep filling ourselves up when God is calling us to go do something with what we already have. More input is not always the answer. Sometimes the next step of growth is output — taking the one thing you know and actually living it.

Your Season Right Now Is Not a Waiting Room

This is the part I really need somebody to hear today.

Your current season is not a waiting room. So many of us are quietly waiting to really live our faith out when we get to the next thing — when life settles, when things look more like we expected. But that keeps you stationary while your whole actual life is happening around you.

Ruth showed up in the fields as a foreign widow with nothing going for her and just did the humble ordinary work right in front of her. She had no idea what God was building. Joseph spent years in a pit and a prison being faithful with whatever was in front of him — not bitter, not checked out, just faithful. Every hard season was forming something in him. Those seasons were not happening TO him. They were happening FOR him.

The same is true for you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust God in all your ways — not just the big exciting ones. The ordinary ones too. Even this one.

The faithfulness you practice right now is not wasted. It is formation.

One Faithful Step

Living your faith forward does not require a grand gesture. Just one step in the direction you already know you are supposed to go. Not all the steps — just one.

Go do that thing. Have that conversation. Say yes to what you have been putting off. God does not need perfect. He just needs willing.

Y’all, I have to tell you how these soft homemade chocolate chip cookies even came to life tonight — because it is SO me. It’s Saturday night, I’m sitting here listening to my book on Audible (seriously if you are not on Audible yet, what are you waiting for — click the link!) and out of nowhere I just got the notion to get up and bake cookies. 10pm on a Saturday night and I’m in the kitchen. No regrets.

Now my husband Sam is absolutely obsessed with those place and bake Pillsbury cookies. And listen, I get it. But I am on a mission to get him over to homemade! Here’s where it gets real though — the first batch was a total fail. I only had Libby’s dark chocolate mini chips on hand and I think I went a little heavy on the salt. They were not it. Redemption never tasted so good!

The Secret to These homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Two secrets — the flour and the timing. I use White Lily Unbleached Bread Flour instead of all-purpose, and it gives these cookies just enough chew without making them tough. And the second secret is pulling them out at 8 minutes even when the centers look underdone. Trust the process! The carry-over heat from the pan finishes the job and gives you that perfect pillowy center every single time.

I also use my Pampered Chef 1½-inch cookie scoop for every single batch — it keeps them all the same size so they bake evenly. No burnt ones, no doughy ones. Just perfect cookies all the way across.

Walking steady in faith sounds simple — until you’re two hours deep in a Pinterest spiral that started as “just ten minutes to find a coffee table decor idea.” That was me the other night. I told Sam ten minutes. Half an hour later I had seven recipes saved, a tab open about why my rosemary was mad at me, four DIYs I suddenly couldn’t live without, and a full vision board for a raised bed garden I already have. My coffee table? Still looked exactly the same.

If that sounds familiar, this episode is for you. Today we’re talking about what it really looks like to move forward — not perfectly, not with every detail figured out, not waiting until the lighting is just right. Just steady.

The Slow-Motion Trap We All Fall Into

Pinterest isn’t the problem. YouTube isn’t the problem. Even that friend with the to-do list isn’t the problem. The real issue is what happens when inspiration becomes a hiding place or worse procrastination.

Perpetual planning feels productive. It looks responsible from the outside. You’re researching, preparing, and you’re being careful. But underneath all of that, if you’re really honest, sometimes you’re just scared.

Scared of getting it wrong or looking foolish. Scared of investing in something that doesn’t pan out the way you hoped. So you watch one more tutorial. Read one more blog post. Make one more color-coded spreadsheet.(Or is it just me?) And somehow another three months go by.

That pattern is what I call fear wearing a “productive-looking outfit” and it even might be holding a clipboard. And it keeps so many good, capable, purpose-filled people completely stuck.

The Cost of Waiting Is Higher Than We Think

Most of the time when we think about all that waiting, we count up the projects that never happened… But honestly? That’s not even the part that gets me.

It’s the meal that didn’t get shared. The friend who sat alone for months because you kept waiting for the perfect time to host that little get-together you kept planning.

I know this firsthand. I had a tiny workshop idea I worried about for months. The title wasn’t right. The handouts weren’t finished. I wasn’t sure about the snacks. So I kept waiting. Finally, I picked a date. Two women came. We created and laughed until our cheeks hurt. One of them told me later that it was the only real friend time she’d had in months.
That afternoon would never have happened if I’d kept waiting for perfect. It was messy and small. But most of all, it mattered more than I ever expected.

Walking Steady in Faith: What Scripture Actually Shows Us

I think about walking steady in faith — almost every person God used in scripture was taking that step before they felt ready.

Noah didn’t build the ark after the rain came. He built it before. For years. While people around him probably thought he’d completely lost his mind. That wasn’t a weekend project. That was years of steady, quiet obedient work before a single drop of rain appeared.

Joshua stood at the edge of the Jordan River — at flood stage — after Moses was gone and the whole weight of leadership was sitting on his shoulders. The water didn’t part first. The priests had to step toward the river while it was still rushing before it did.

Peter climbed out of the boat while the storm was still raging. Yes, he started to sink when he looked at the wind instead of Jesus. But let’s not skip past what it took for him to step out there in the first place. The miracle wasn’t that he walked perfectly. It was that an ordinary, imperfect, emotional human being trusted Jesus enough to leave the boat at all.

None of them had the full plan or details. They each just got the next step they needed to take.

You’re Not Lazy — You’re Overwhelmed

There is so much noise and distractions coming at us every single day. So many opinions, options, and tutorials that our brains genuinely don’t know which way to go. And so we freeze. We scroll. We add to the cart and close the tab. We open seventeen browser windows and still don’t know what to make for supper.

The enemy doesn’t always need a big huge moment to distract us. Sometimes he just needs us distracted long enough that we never actually move on the thing God placed in front of us.

And while we’re busy collecting ideas, life keeps moving. And we miss it.

How to Start Walking Steady (Even When You Don’t Feel Ready)

So what do we actually do about it?

Start small. Y’all, I mean it. Nobody needs to know. It doesn’t have to be ready for the internet. It doesn’t have to impress a single soul. Fifteen minutes. One email, a single seed dropped in a pot, or just one paragraph that nobody else even has to see yet. That’s it. You don’t need the whole plan laid out before you take the first step — you just need to take the first step. The rest has a funny way of showing up once you actually get moving.

Stop trusting the noise. I know, I know — there’s always another video, one more expert, another person in a Facebook group with a very strong opinion about the exact thing you’re trying to do. But here’s what I’ve learned: the internet is never going to run out of more. That’s not a sign that you aren’t ready yet. That’s just Wednesday. Close the tab. Pick the one thing. Do it before you talk yourself out of it again.

Give yourself a little grace for the messy middle. Y’all, nothing starts out pretty. Cakes bake lopsided. Conversations get awkward. That thing you made looks absolutely nothing like the inspiration photo and that fine. The messy middle isn’t a sign you’re doing it wrong — it’s just what the beginning actually looks like for everybody, even the people who always make it look effortless. Messy is just where growth lives.

Perfection says, “Well, I messed up today — I’ll start over on Monday.” Steady says, “Today got a bit messy, but I’m still moving.”

Your Next Step Is Enough

This week, I’m not asking you to jump across the ocean. I’m just asking you to get out of the boat.
Plant the seed. Send the email. Make the call. Post the thing. Open the Bible again. Have the conversation. Start the project. Apply for the job.

Whatever that next step you have been holding on to is — stop overthinking yourself right out of it. Because if God led you to it, He’s not going to disappear halfway through it.
Messy nervous steps still count.

And who knows — this time next year, you might look back and realize the thing that changed your life started with one small act of bravery on an ordinary Wednesday night.

If you’re stuck in that swirl of little choices, this episode is all about everyday discernment: simple, faith‑forward steps (prayer, a 24–72 hour rule, and small tests) to help you stop overthinking and decide with peace.

Those tiny “do I or don’t I?” moments add up — the crafts piling up, the chicken coop talk, or the idea that sounds fun until it eats your evenings. Everyday discernment helps you notice what matters and protect the things that do.

three simple habits I use:

Non‑negotiables: pick your top three (mine are family supper, a day off with Sam, and Sabbath time). If a yes breaks two, pause.

Don’t decide on feelings alone: feelings are part of it, but ask one honest friend and check time, money, and who else it affects.

Give it a small rhythm: try a 24–72 hour rule — pray, sleep on it, ask one person, then decide.

Using everyday discernment — Nehemiah’s simple playbook

Nehemiah cried, prayed, inspected the wall, asked the king, organized the people, and finished the job. He mixed prayer with plain sense — the kind of pattern we can use at home: notice, pray, check, test, involve people, and follow through. Read the complete story in Nehemiah 1–6 (Bible passage): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah+1-6&version=NIV

Test it small — a gentle way to practice

Make one batch of soap before committing. Plant one tomato, not a whole bed. List five crafts and ship them — don’t empty the whole closet. Small tests keep you from losing sleep or missing supper.

Signs everyday discernment gives you to say yes — and red flags to say no Good signs:

Peace that sticks around the next day.

It lines up with rest, honesty, and family time.

A wise friend says, “That makes sense.”

Practical doors or resources start to open.

Guilt or people‑pleasing.

Rushed choices from fear or FOMO.

Secrecy or cutting off your people.

Have you ever gone out of your way to avoid someone — not because you’re rude, but because you’re hiding? Last week I found myself ducking down the cereal aisle, balancing a cart of fresh veggies and almond milk, trying to be invisible. That small, ordinary moment kept replaying in my head and reminded me why this episode is called From Hiding to Hope: the simple conversations we avoid can be the very things that change us.

That small, ordinary moment kept replaying in my head because it reminded me of a story in John 4: a woman who came to Jacob’s well at midday, trying to stay unseen. Instead she met Jesus, had a life‑changing conversation, and ran back to tell everyone what she’d found. That’s what this episode is about: the messy middle where God finds us, and how one short, honest moment can change everything.

Why this matters

Shame teaches us to hide. Shame whispers that being seen equals being judged. So we craft routes and excuses and social media highlight reels that say “I’ve got it together” when we don’t. But hiding compounds loneliness; honest connection brings freedom.

What the woman at the well teaches us

Jesus meets us where we are. He didn’t wait for her to be “presentable.” He sat at the well.

Being seen isn’t the same as being shamed. Jesus named her story without condemning her.

Honest testimony moves people. The woman’s simple, raw witness — “come see a man who told me everything I ever did” — led her whole town to listen.

Two practical ways to live From hiding to hope out

Show up with small kindnesses. It doesn’t have to be dramatic — sit with the coworker no one invites, give the cashier a genuine thank you, bring a neighbor a cup of soup. Small presence says “I see you.”

Share one short honest sentence of your story. You don’t need a polished testimony. Try: “God met me when I felt lost.” That single sentence can invite someone to ask, “Tell me more.”

Reflection questions

Where are you hiding right now?

Who could you offer a small, consistent kindness to this week?

You ever feel like you’re doing everything right … and it still feels like nothing?

Like you’re showing up, trying your best, biting your tongue when you really wanna say something, keeping your attitude in check, doing all the “good” things… and somehow it still feels like you’re just spinning your wheels?

Yeah… me too.

And if you’ve been sitting in that space lately, this week’s episode of Unscripted Conversations is gonna feel like I’m sitting right there across the table from you, probably with a cup of coffee and a “bless it” somewhere in the conversation 😅

Listen to doing everything right

When It Feels Quiet… and You Start Questioning Everything

This episode came from a real place for me. When Cameron left for bootcamp, everything shifted, and it got quiet in a way I wasn’t ready for. Not peaceful quiet… just different.

I started writing him letters every day, just trying to stay connected somehow. And at the time, it felt one-sided, like I was sending things out and not getting anything back yet. But looking back now, it was doing more than I realized… I just couldn’t see it in the moment.

Faith Without a Platform (When Nobody’s Watching)

This one really comes down to what your faith looks like when it’s just you and God and it’s quiet. No one’s watching, nothing big is happening, and you’re just trying to do better than you did yesterday.

And I think that’s where it gets hard… because when it feels that quiet, it’s real easy to start wondering if any of it even counts. But that’s usually the part that matters the most.

Joseph in the Middle of It

This whole conversation kept bringing me back to Joseph, not at the end of his story, but right in the middle of it. When nothing looked like it was working out and there was no sign of where things were headed.

If you want to read his story, start here:
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+37&version=NLT
What stands out isn’t just where he ended up… it’s how he showed up when nobody was watching and nothing seemed to be going his way.

doing everything right and It’s Not Wasted

If you’re in a season right now where it feels like nothing is changing, I just want to remind you… it’s not wasted.
Even if it feels slow and quiet. Even if you don’t see anything from it yet. Just because it hasn’t shown up on the outside doesn’t mean something isn’t happening.

Why God doesn’t answer every prayer right away isn’t always easy to understand, especially when you’re sitting in the waiting. In this post, we’re talking about what God might be doing behind the scenes, whether He’s refining something in you or revealing something through you.

Why God doesn’t answer every prayer right away is something most of us have wrestled with, even if we don’t always say it out loud. You pray, you mean it, you bring it to Him more than once… and then it just feels quiet. Not a clear yes, not a clear no, just sitting there wondering what in the world is going on.

And that’s the part that can get to you, because you know He hears you, so you’re left trying to figure out why nothing seems to be moving yet.

Why God Doesn’t Answer Every Prayer When Waiting Feels Heavy

Waiting has a way of testing you that you don’t really expect at first. It’s not that you stop believing, it’s just that you start thinking a little too much. You replay things in your mind, you wonder if you missed something, and before you know it, you’re trying to make sense of something that hasn’t changed yet.

Most of us don’t struggle with trusting God when things are going smooth. We struggle when things feel slow.

Faith That Refines

Sometimes the reason things aren’t happening right away has nothing to do with God not hearing you, and everything to do with what He’s doing in you before He gives you what you asked for.

We want the answer, but God sees the whole picture. He knows what it’s going to take to carry that blessing, and if something in you needs to be strengthened or cleaned up first, He’s not going to skip that part just to move things along faster.

That’s what refining is. It’s not punishment, it’s preparation.

Is It Revealing Something?

And then there are other seasons where it’s not about fixing anything in you… it’s about showing what’s already there.

When you look at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3, that fire didn’t change them, it revealed them. It showed that their faith was real, steady, and not going anywhere.

Sometimes the way you walk through something isn’t just about you. Someone else is watching, and God will use your faith to reach them.

Why God Doesn’t Answer Every Prayer Right Away… Maybe It’s Just “Not Yet”

It’s easy to think a delay means no, but what if it’s not?

What if it’s just “not yet”?

Not because God is holding something back from you, but because He’s preparing you for it in a way that actually lasts.

Easy one-pot venison stroganoff is what happens when you’ve got ground deer in the fridge, no real supper plan, and you just start throwing things in a pan and hoping for the best… and somehow it turns into something everybody goes back for.

I sautéed up some onions, browned the ground venison, threw in some jar-lic (because we are not living a lifestyle over here with fresh cloves all the time 😂), added a little butter since deer doesn’t have much fat, and then just built from there. Nothing fancy and not much measured. Just real cooking.

And y’all… it turned out GOOD.

t fed me and Sam for supper, and we’ve still got enough left for lunches this week. And honestly, it might be even better the next day once everything soaks in.

Why You’ll Love This Easy One-Pot Venison Stroganoff

This is one of those meals that just makes sense. Ground venison can be tricky if you don’t give it a little help, but adding that butter and letting it simmer in that broth takes care of all that. The noodles cook right in the pot, so they soak up every bit of flavor, and by the time you stir in that sour cream at the end, it all comes together creamy without being heavy.

It’s simple, filling, and doesn’t leave you with a sink full of dishes—which is a win all by itself.

Ingredients

1 lb ground venison

1 onion, chopped

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

About 3 cups low-sodium beef stock (I used the Thrive Market brand!)

2 handfuls egg noodles (Again, the Thrive Market brand!)

Seasoned salt, Garlic (jar-lic works just fine), onion powder, pinch of thyme

1 big scoop sour cream (probably like 1/2 a cup or so)

How to Make Easy One-Pot Venison Stroganoff

Start by sautéing your onions in butter until they soften up. Add in your ground venison and cook it through.
Sprinkle in your flour and stir it around so it doesn’t get all clumpy and weird. Slowly add your beef stock while stirring, then go ahead and pour in the rest once it smooths out.
Add your egg noodles right into the pot, stir, cover, and let it simmer until the noodles are tender.
Right at the end, turn the heat down and stir in a big scoop of sour cream. That’s what brings it all together.

A Little Note on Thrive Market

I used Thrive Market for both the beef stock and the egg noodles, and I’m telling you… I love them. They’ve got cleaner ingredients, and if you’ve got any kind of dietary preferences, you can set your account up so it shows you exactly what fits your needs.

Plus, it ships straight to your house, which saves a trip to the store (and we all know how dangerous “quick trips” can be 😅). You can even set up auto-ship every few weeks so you don’t run out of your staples.
